The Devil of History

Now that it’s in the Annick Press Fall 2013 catalog and has a release date on Amazon.ca, it seems like time to announce my new book. It’s a Feudal, Feudal World: A Different Medieval History is written by me and illustrated by Ross Kinnaird.

Once Annick gave me the subtitle A Different History, I went ahead and crammed in everything I always wanted in a medieval history but couldn’t find. Food, books, the environment, pig bites, it’s all in there. The book ranges all the way from L’anse aux Meadows in Newfoundland to Novgorod in Russia, and from Bergen, Norway to Baghdad, Iraq. We even got to include the story of the first Chinese pilgrim to meet the pope and the kings of England and France.
